It was literally impossible for mountain lovers to resist heading to the Himalayas that represent nothing less than the crowning apex of nature's grandeur.
After my previous vacation which was full of activities this time we decided to go for a vacation that offers peace of mine and we ended up to take a trip to the hills of Manali and it was a great decision.
We could have taken our car but this time we decided to enjoy the Volvo ride and adventure began by boarding the Volvo in the evening from ISBT Delhi with our first stop being the renowned Dhaba turned restaurant in Murthal - Amrik Sukhdev. After a hearty dinner, we prepare ourselves for the long journey ahead and were asleep in the comfortable bus in sometime. We only wake up following morning when bus was stopped for a while at the River View cafe adminst the Himalayas. A short and crisp breakfast while waking up to breathe in the fresh Himalayan air was enough to set our holiday mood.
Once we reached Manali we were well received by our Taxi driver at the Volvo stop and went to the hotel for checking in. Our hotel was situated next to Beas River and view from the hotel room was ineffable. After seeing the view from hotel room I thanked my travel agent who advised me to upgrade the hotel room and not to worry about extra money as compared to online portal and hotel was also perfect for my kids due to big garden and kids area in the hotel.
First day in Manali was spent enjoying the view from hotel room and relaxing at the hotel and later half of the day was well spent while exploring the local new Manali area. This area of Manali is also houses a tibetian monastery and the famous Johnson's Cafe. There were innumerous choices of restaurants available within the area offering different domestic, international and local cuisines. We decided to have an early dinner on one of these restaurants and move to bed early so that we are ready for our Rohtang Pass excursions next day.
The following morning, we started early at 5.30 am from our hotel for the most popular attraction and the highest pass in the region called Rohtang Pass which is around 51 KM from Manali. We crossed the beautiful landscapes of Kothi and Gulaba on our way to Rohtang Darra (Pass). We stopped at a roadside dhaba for our ritual breakfast. It was a mesmerizing experience to find yourself admist the serene Himalayas out of the hectic city life without the hassle of having to plan our complete trip.
All thanks to TripsGateway.com who connected us directly with the travel agents and they planned a very good tour package for Manali for us as per our requirements.
We had a great experience at Rohtang Pass. The pass is located at an altitude of 400meters and connects Kullu Valley with Lahaul & Spiti Valleys. There are various small shops offering food and various other activities to do for travelers like Skiing, Snow Mobile etc. We were back by the evening to our hotel after a long tiring day. We spent the day exploring Manali and Manu temple before returning back to our hotel.
Next morning, we were a bit relaxed and made our ways to Solang Valley. In Solang Valley To satisfy our adrenaline rush we did Paragliding and tried few other adventure activities and it was an experience we will cherish forever. Paragliding gives you you a bird eye view of the beautiful and massive Himalayas.
In the evening, we visited Hadimba temple, an ancient temple devoted to Goddess Hidamba wife of Bhima (One of the Pandavas). Near Hadimba Temple we met many local traders dealing in Kesar and other local items and it was a great fun to see the way they demonstrate and prove that item is genuine.
By late evening we were back in our hotel room after having our dinner at the Mall Road. Next day was a relaxing day and we spent it around Manali exploring various nature parks and cafe's around Manali and did some shopping in the local Tibetan market. In the afternoon we made our way to the Volvo Stand which overnight transferred us back to Delhi.
